At Grovelands Primary School we recognise the importance of a history based on truth. We acknowledge the past, seek truth in the present and commit to making change in the future.
In partnership with our local community, we will:
•Continue to reflect upon and develop our knowledge creating a deeper understanding and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures. •Ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are respectfully included in our policies, planning and practice. •Actively work to ensure all students receive a strengths-based and culturally responsive environment that provides equal and equitable educational outcomes for all students. • We will form authentic connections and respectful relationships with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, facilitating opportunities to engage with our school community. •Create a welcoming school environment that acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Land on which our school stands, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. •Build an empowered school community that creates positive change for reconciliation in the wider community.
Together we will strive to create a unified school community.
