Kelmscott Primary School will continue to respect, value and celebrate the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through developing cultural responsiveness and strengthening our understanding of, and respectfully embedding the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.
In committing to our vision for reconciliation, we actively recognise and acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the Traditional Land Owners of the Country on which our school stands, and Lands across Australia. We recognise, celebrate, respectfully include and promote the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and continuing contributions. We enhance and progress our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories and perspectives. We continue to contribute to and build stronger relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community and in turn create positive change within the wider community. We annually evaluate our Reconciliation Action Plan to monitor progress and assist with future goal setting to ensure reconciliation is alive, active and in the hearts of all Kelmscott Primary School community.
