VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Pinewood Primary School, we are actively engaged in supporting reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  We are committed to creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment that emphasises mutual respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all non-Indigenous Australians. We aim to empower all students to become respectful and informed citizens who deeply value the richness of the worlds oldest living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We envision a future grounded in mutual respect by deepening our collective knowledge of First Nations peoples and supporting a sense of belonging for all people. We aim to foster empathy, challenge stereotypes, and promote equity, equality, mutual respect, compassion, and cultural understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider school community.  Our vision for reconciliation is one unity, healing, and empowerment. Through genuine respectful relationships, understanding diverse perspectives, active listening, and shared learning, we walk together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples ona shared journey of reconciliation.   Pinewood Primary School is committed to respectfully supporting First Nations peoples by nurturing responsibility, self-confidence, optimism, integrity, and respect within the Pinewood Primary School and the wider community. Together, as a school and community, we are committed to supporting the journey of reconciliation.
