VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, we are inspired by our touchstones, especially the ideal of a Liberating Education, to contribute to a world where First Nations peoples and all other Australians walk towards a reconciled future. Reconciliation is a core element of our Christian faith (Hebrews 12:14) and we understand that to live in peace, we must acknowledge the injustices of the past and be reconciled to one another in the present so that the future is characterised by dignity, justice and equality, especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The College actively works towards creating a culturally safe school that is diverse and inclusive in its policies and practices.  We are committed to challenging students, staff, parents and carers to contribute to the work of reconciliation through a process of healing and truth telling, acknowledging the devastating impact that colonisation continues to have on our community today. Our vision is to be a community that stands for justice, celebrating the continuing richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, heritage and cultures, especially the local Wodi Wodi people of the Dharawal Nation.
