VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision is to establish Glenfield Park School as a place where reconciliation is embedded in the everyday actions and practices of the Glenfield Park Community.    Glenfield Park School is committed to reconciliation to ensure that we respect, pay homage to and acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their histories, whilst ensuring we lead positive change to close the gap in educational and wellbeing outcomes and opportunities. We will do this through inclusion, consultation, collaboration and positive partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.    We value and respect the importance of spiritual and cultural identities the traditions and customs of First Nations peoples. We continue to build and strengthen meaningful relationships between our school, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and our wider community within and beyond the school gate.     At Glenfield Park School we recognise the importance of respectfully embedding First Nations peoples cultures, histories and perspectives with the purpose of building respectful relationships that contribute to unity.    It is our hope that this Reconciliation Action Plan will play a significant part in the healing process, working towards a time when equality and equity are experienced by all people in our school and our community.    Our ongoing ambition is that First Nations peoples and all people experience dignity and respect through culturally safe spaces, programs and experiences in our school community.    We commit to learning and walking together to build a learning community that promotes reconciliation through valuing the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures to create a brighter future for all students.
