Our vision at Ajuga School is to create a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people come together in peace and harmony. We believe in resolving differences through empathy and understanding, aligning the values and ethics to collaboratively work towards reconciliation that benefits everyone. We acknowledge and respect the histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, recognising the importance of understanding the impacts from past traumas and building authentic, trusting relationships that support reconciliation. Reconciliation means fostering a culture of respect and recognition, where the contributions and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are acknowledged and celebrated. It is about creating opportunities for dialogue, ensuring that diverse First Nations peoples perspectives are heard, valued, and actively engaging in actions that promote justice, equality and equity. Together, we strive to create a society where equality is paramount, education is prioritised, and all voices are heard, ensuring a shared journey toward a positive and inclusive future for all.
