Six ways to engage with Narragunnawali Professional Learning Opportunities

Are you embedding reconciliation in your classroom and looking for some inspiration? Are you and your school or service looking for ways to build staff capability in reconciliation practice? Is your school or early learning service developing – or refreshing – a Narragunnawali Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)? Now’s the time to jump into some Narragunnawali professional learning opportunities and meet your professional requirements.
There are a range of professional learning resources and opportunities to support both individual pedagogical development and RAP Working Groups’ journeys.
Time spent engaging with the Narragunnawali platform can be added to your Elective Professional Development hours. Please check the professional development guidelines with the Teacher Accreditation Regulatory Body in your state or territory.
1. RAP Actions
A great place to start with the 40 Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Actions. Each RAP Action is a professional learning resource in and of itself, and includes an overview, need to know, ideas for action and aligned professional learning and curriculum resources. The 14 minimum required RAP Actions are accompanied by a film that explores what that Action looks like in practice. You can engage with the information on each RAP Action page, regardless of whether or not your school or early learning service has a RAP.
2. Professional Learning Resources
Narragunnawali professional learning resources strengthen staff understanding of reconciliation and support educators to respectfully teach about and embed First Nations histories, cultures, and contributions. Engaging with these professional learning activities helps you deliver your RAP Actions and embed reconciliation across learning environments. The activities are teacher-led and can be used independently, in small groups or during staff meetings. Each resource aligns with the National Quality Standard (early learning), the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (primary and secondary) and at least one RAP Action. Have a browse through our professional learning resource library and bookmark any you feel would help support you or your colleagues.
3. Reconciliation Toolkits
The Narragunnawali Reconciliation Toolkits contain comprehensive guides and core resources to support conversations and reconciliation action. Reconciliation is everyone's business and for everyone's benefit, and there are easy-to-use toolkits for all who are involved in schools and services. Whether you're a school or service leader, teacher or educator, student, parent, carer, student or community member, your role is important within the reconciliation in education community of practice
4. Webinars
The Narragunnawali team releases recorded, on-demand webinars throughout the year. These can be registered for and engaged with, anytime, anywhere!
If you’re thinking about developing a Narragunnawali RAP or you’ve been invited to join a RAP Working Group, a great way to learn about the 14 required RAP Actions is to watch a webinar from the RAP Action Series.
