Our vision for reconciliation at Hayes Park is to continue to acknowledge the past aswe continue to educate ourselves to be able to achieve a better, reconciled future.. Through respectful relationships we will build a pathway to reconciliation together with First Nations peoples within our community and broader community. Our vision for reconciliation at Peak Sports and Learning Hayes Park Public School expresses the value we feel in maintaining relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, community members and educators. We acknowledge that, through our roles as educators, we will provide opportunities for children to have a deeper understanding of unity, equality, equity and respect for Australia’s First Peoples. We continue to strengthen our culturally responsive programming and practices as we ourselves continue to learn and grow through our connections with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We feel that with understanding comes respect, and that actively recognising the relationship between understanding and respect is of the utmost importance in progressing reconciliation. Therefore, we always encourage the input of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and we are grateful for the learnings and cultural growth that we have developed as both a service and as individuals, through meaningful connections with community.
