VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Edge Early Learning, Munno Para West, acknowledges, recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Peoples of the Lands, Seas, and Air. As we work and learn on Country, we pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, recognising their continuing connection to culture, Country, and community as the Traditional Custodians of the Lands on which our early childhood services are offered. At Edge Early Learning Munno Para West, we strive towards building open, honest, respectful and trusting relationships between parents, families, children and local First Nations community. At Edge Munno Para West, children are provided with the opportunity to learn about and develop their personal sense of identity, as well as to recognise the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, perspectives, and heritages as a proud part of a shared national identity. We strive towards forming and maintaining relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Elders in the community and support the children at the centre to understand, gain knowledge and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and what it means to be part of a reconciled Australia. Educators are provided with professional learning opportunities to deepen their understandings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories, and perspectives. We strive to build a greater understanding of culture within the Edge community and work collaboratively with other centres as part of our shared journeys. At Edge Early Learning Munno Para West, we value our role as allies and advocates of reconciliation  within the service and local community.
