Reconciliation can be defined as a process of making amends to move forward together in harmony. We acknowledge that we cannot change the past, however, within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, we accept our role in educating staff, families, and children of Australia's true history. This acknowledgement through truth telling is the first step in working towards a brighter and united future.
Our educational program provides the opportunities to Learn about First Nations peoples’ cultures, perspectives, and histories through working side by side with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We actively strive to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives authentically through considering First Nations perspectives when extending on children's interest and combining it with intentional teaching strategies to create a meaningful curriculum.
Our learning environments are culturally safe service, ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families see themselves represented and welcome at the service.
We work towards being allies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the community, seeking to walk alongside the advocacy work of local First Nations leaders.
