Our vision for reconciliation at St Monica’s OSHC is to make progressive strides towards a unified Australia. We value the living cultures, stories and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Children must be granted the opportunity to embrace, celebrate and belong to our nation's story and reconciliation community. We seek to engage present and future generations in experiencing and promoting equality and equity on our reconciliation journey. We are exceptionally privileged to be part of the lives of the children we educate on this journey. Reconciliation is an evolving movement and education is fundamental in this process. We all have an obligation to expose our youngest of minds to the oldest continuing living culture whilst also being open and honest about past injustices and suffering. We will respect Elders past and walk with our Elders present and emerging. Step by Step, acknowledging the Traditional Caretakers of the Land we stride upon.
