Our vision for reconciliation, at Forbes Community Out of School Hours Care, is to recognise the truth of our shared past, commit to working together to create a respectful and culturally rich program and a place where families, educators and children have a sense of belonging, built on mutual respect. We believe that continuing to build reciprocal connections with the local First Nations community and acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the Land, the Wiradjuri People, will create the opportunity for all children to be surrounded in cultures and cultural knowledges and allow them to continue to build respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all peoples in the diversity pf the nation. Established routines that include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within our program and activities ensure authenticity and an understanding of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through respectful and reciprocal collaboration. We believe in continued learning and education to further our understanding of First Nations cultures and reconciliation and recognise that our Reconciliation Action Plan is a document that is continually revisited, developed, and built upon.
