Our vision for reconciliation is for everyone at Little Muffins to acknowledge and pay respect to the Yugambeh/Kombumerri Peoples of the Gold Coast, where our office is located, and Elders both past and present. We also acknowledge the many Aboriginal people from other regions across Southeast Queensland, as well as Torres Strait and South Sea Islander peoples who now live in the local area and make important contributions to the community.
Little Muffins envisions reconciliation as a coming together of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people to work, play and learn together with equity, equality and positive opportunities and outcomes for all. We see Australians, old and new, finding harmony and balance in all areas of life, and in their interactions with each other. We will continue to help our children, educators and families develop respect, trust, understanding and joy in learning about diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ traditions, heritages and continuing contributions cultural perspectives . We continue to establish and maintain meaningful relationships with the Traditional Custodians of the Lands on which our service is located, learning and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives respectfully within our programming. Our service strives to be a place where all families, children, staff, educators and visitors have a sense of belonging; where they feel connected, accepted and valued on an daily basis.
