Our vision for reconciliation is to deepen our knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories and cultures by working with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to build respectful relationships. These relationships will occur through deep listening, learning and connection with the local Kaurna communities. Together, lets build knowledge of the past and present to form strong relationships with mutual trust and respect. Our RAP will increase the opportunity for all people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, to have a sense of belonging in the centre community. We will continue to involve families and community members in our RAP direction and to engage with and actively involve local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and services. We aim to make inclusion and anti-racism the basis of our workplace environment and professional practice. We believe that our Reconciliation Action Plan should be implemented with commitment and based on an active acknowledgement of the Traditional Owners of the Land we work, live and play on. We will expand our understanding of the needs, interests and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families. We actively engage with the cultural diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, exploring these themes within our centre. With our RAP we hope to create an inclusive space for all people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families, and to foster opportunities for all to become more connected with the community and have a sense of belonging.
