At St Albans Park Kindergarten, reconciliation to us is a journey involving brave conversation, active listening and respect. We aim to consider all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within our service delivery by acknowledging and valuing the diverse cultural histories, heritages and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised as being the First Nations peoples of Australia; where all Australians embrace Elders past, present and emerging for the wisdom and knowledge they hold and share and where emerging leaders in local communities are supported. Our focus will be in developing genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities of our St Albans Park Kindergarten and seek to embed an awareness of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures into our programs that promote an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness. We believe in treating everybody equally and with equity and respecting people of all cultures within our learning community and greater community. To support and achieve ongoing success for our vision we aim to build trusting respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our community and facilitate opportunities for learnings to our greater Kindergarten community as well.
