St Albans Park Kindergarten’s vision for reconciliation is a community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are respected, celebrated and valued. We aspire for a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised as being the First Nations peoples of Australia; where all Australians value Elders past, present and emerging for the wisdom and knowledge they hold. We continue to develop genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community, and we embed an awareness and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures into our program. We educate our kindergarten students to treat everybody equally and with equity and to show respect for people of all cultures within our learning community and greater community. Our continued journey involves embedding daily routines into our kindergarten program that acknowledge the Wadawurrung People, in a respectful way, while enhancing children's knowledge and understanding and providing opportunities to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
