Reconciliation to our service means working together to create a more peaceful future whilst acknowledging the past. Educating the young people of today about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories helps to develop an understanding of cultural difference and respect for diversity. By ensuring the knowledge of Indigenous Australians plays a role in children’s education a more holistic view of Australia can be encouraged whilst ensuring positive cultural relationships. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander connection to country plays an important role at our service as we encourage sustainability and traditional environmental stewardship in our learning environement. As we continue to engage relevant stakeholders within the community including Elders, Parents, Carers and community members we aim to have a wide range of opinions contributing to our continued program. Our journey is ever evolving and we look forward to seeing how our engagement with the local First Nations community in all forms. As we continue to reflect on practice, and engage with professional learning opportunities, we will continue our reconciliation journey.
