Peak Sports and Learning - Shell Cove and families vision for reconciliation is to learn from and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and aim to support recognition and reconciliation particularly with the Dharawal people in our local community. At our centre in Shellcove that reconciliation is a major priority in our program is a part of our daily practice as educators and a centre to demonstrate our willingness and drive to be a more culturally responsive centre. Reconciliation is about respect and developing positive relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We influence and engage our children through positive role modelling and respectfully educating them on moving forward as a community that is united and working together to build a better Australia for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and all Australians.
It is our mission at Peak Shellcove to strengthen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures as we continue to commit to working towards a safe and equitable place for all people of Australia. We provide a welcoming environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and we value their knowledge and respectfully include this in our programs.
