At Peak Sports and Learning we believe in the value of staff, children and families actively listening to and learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly the Dharawal and Wodi Wodi people in our local community. We believe that reconciliation is about building respectful relationships between First Nations peoples and the wider Australian community to enable us to work together to foster equality and equity, and to achieve a shared sense of fairness and justice for all people in our ever-growing multicultural society. Reconciliation is a very important part of our program. We actively recognise the importance of influencing and engaging our children through positive role modelling and respectfully educating them on how to work together and move forward as a greater, united community that builds a better Australia for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and all peoples
As a centre we will continue to strengthen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures as we commit to working toward a safe and equitable place for all people. We will ensure we provide a welcoming environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and, through strong relationship-building, pledge to actively value and respectfullyembed First Nations knowledge and perspectives in our programs and practices.
