Our RAP is driven by a working group of staff from across our organisation who are passionate about reconciliation.
Our vision is to move forward to provide all educators, families and children with opportunities to build knowledge and build stronger community connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This will enable us to become more confident in how we respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into daily practice, programs and within our service. We wish to move forward to a united future with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and work towards ensuring equality, equity inclusivity, and wellbeing. We are committed to accepting uniqueness and learning, unlearning and relearning, to ensure we develop stronger understandings of and relationships with First Natios peoples based on mutual trust and respect.
We come together with a variety of understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and have an open desire to learn and create change that leads us closer to our vision for reconciliation.
We know and recognise that reconciliation is everyone’s business and will provide opportunities for our centre and its support networks to engage with reconciliation on both personal and professional levels. In this way reconciliation is woven through everything we do at Goodstart Port Kennedy.
