Fremantle Early Learning Centre envisions reconciliation as an ongoing journey of respectful relationships and meaningful partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly the Whadjuk Noongar people of Walyalup, whose enduring connection to land, sea and sky we honour. We aspire to nurture a culturally safe and inclusive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives are embedded into everyday learning. We will learn about the diverse histories, cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to foster learning environments that are focused on, strengthening unity, equity and understanding for all.
Our vision is for every child, educator, family and community member to build knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures and to learn from Traditional Custodians about how to foster a connection to Country, and grow in our understanding of First Peoples as caring custodians of lands, seas and skys, to create a reconciled Australia that is grounded in equality and respect.
