Our vision for reconciliation is, that it should be a part of everyday life. We recognise that the early childhood education setting is an opportunistic place for children to participate in learning about reconciliation and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories. As the first formal education setting that most of our students are exposed to, we have the opportunity to lay the foundation of respect for our First Nations peoples and cultures. We aim to provide a respectful and enriching education about the Traditional Owners of the Land on which our service stands, Whadjuk Noongar people of Southern River. We furthermore aim to facilitate opportunities for students to learn about local culture and build respectful, and ongoing relationships with Whadjuk Noongar community.
