Our vision for reconciliation at Busy Bees at Smithfield Plains is to value and respect First Nations peoples in the neighbourhood, the centre, and the community We understand that by learning from injustices of the past, we can strengthen respectful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the present and future. Through establishing respectful and reciprocal connections with the First Nations community, we hope to create a service that is both inclusive and knowledgeable about reconciliation. In order to achieve reconciliation, we envision a strong commitment to education, understanding, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We hold the view that understanding develops through education starting in the early years and through the respectful inclusion and acknowledgement of significant voices and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the service and community. Through promoting First Nations peoples’ cultural diversity, we hope to inform, celebrate, and proudly drive reconciliation.
