VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We recognise and respect the importance of providing children with the opportunity to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Nations Peoples of the Land on which we learn and play. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of knowing and being, and support children’s connectedness and ways of belonging with people, Country, and communities. We encourage children to learn to reflect on the values, traditions, and practices of their families and communities. We value, acknowledge, and respect the Gimuy Walubarra-Yindinji People, past, present, and emerging. We value their identities, histories, traditions, and continuing contributions as part of our shared national story and identity. Through deepening our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, we are able to respect the cultures of all children, families and stakeholders . As a service committed to reconciliation, we embrace unity and respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians and respect and promote equality and equity.
