Caloundra Community Childcare Centre are proud of our vision for reconciliation working together with our families and community as a team, deepening our learning about our country's past, through respectful and reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We continue embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives into our everyday curriculum in a meaningful way. Our commitment to building and maintaining relationships with local Gubbi Gubbi Elders is evident in our ongoing connectedness through visits and correspondence. Through these relationships we further developer our understanding of the truth and impact of colonisation. We will continue to reflect on the different ways of knowing, being and doing. We will take time and make time to respectfully share knowledge and work together with dignity and active listening. We will strive to listen to First Nations voices and continue mentoring even as people and relationships change.
