Goodstart Mount Tamborine

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that actively acknowledges and upholds the rights, cultural values and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; a national culture that ensures unity and equity for all Australians, respects the Land, and values the knowledge and future knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Reconciliation must be felt through the whole body and come alive through actions to ensure continuous and positive progress. This ensures a strengthened nation, built upon respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community.

At Goodstart Mount Tamborine we envision a future that has strong respect for and relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. The early years is a crucial time to build the understandings necessary to create inclusive and empowering communities. We understand the important role that our children’s knowledge and experiences play in shaping the future of Australia’s response to reconciliation. As educators, we are committed to continually extending our own awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing. This will facilitate the delivery of a learning environment for our children where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultural knowledges and values are respectfully embedded throughout the centre.
