VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Reconciliation means to foster a togetherness between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous Australians, which is built upon justice, forgiveness, and healing. With this definition in mind, our vision for reconciliation is to ensure unity and equity within our service. Reconciliation is more than just a word but an action; it must be felt through the whole body and come alive through a united force and continuous process. Only with this approach will the process of reconciliation influence a strengthened nation which is bult upon reciprocal relationships between all Australians. At Goodstart Early Learning Mount Tamborine, we believe reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We strive to be an early childhood education and care centre in which the values, cultures and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are respectfully embedded across our learning environments and teaching practices. We are committed to fostering equal and equitable educational opportunities and outcomes for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, and an inclusive and diverse workplace that is not just culturally safe, but culturally rich and proud. Our educators will continuously build on their cultural responsiveness  and raise awareness of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being, ensuring among children that we are educating. We understand that the children that we are teaching today will become those that shape the reconciliation trajectory of the futurehere in Australia, so we will ensure that the knowledge that we are imparting to the children is trustworthy and respectful. It is crucial that we, as an early childhood education and care provider, continue to be committed to empowering the community in which we reside and promote inclusivity across all aspects of our programs.
