At Eden Academy Isle of Capri, we define reconciliation as the necessary strengthening of relationships between non-Indigenous Australians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. We recognise reconciliation at Eden is an ongoing journey towards creating a unified, equitable, and socially just Australia.
In a reconciled Australia, all people will have the same chances in life as their peers, in education and career. In a reconciled Australia, First Nations Peoples have the same rights and opportunities as their non-Indigenous peers and their culture and heritage is championed and celebrated.
Based on our reconciliation journey so far, our next most powerful steps involve staff engagement with the RAP and the respectful embedding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in our everyday program.
As a centre we want to champion Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture respectfully and ensure that our service is a culturally safe place for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
