At Bethania Early Education Centre, our vision for reconciliation is to foster unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community. We are committed to promoting a national culture grounded in equity, respect, and inclusion, supported by an honest acknowledgment of our shared histories and a collective commitment to eliminating racial inequity.
We believe reconciliation is an ongoing journey that must be reflected in the thoughts, values, and actions of all Australians. Through this commitment, we contribute to a stronger, more respectful nation built on genuine relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader community.
Within our service, we provide children educators and families with meaningful and culturally respectful learning experiences that build their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, heritages, histories, and perspectives. We intentionally foster a sense of connection to the First Peoples of Australia within both the centre and the wider community.
We are committed to developing and sustaining positive, respectful relationships with the Yugambeh people, ensuring that First Nations voices are authentically embedded within our curriculum and daily practices through ongoing consultation and collaboration. Furthermore, we prioritise continuous professional learning for educators to strengthen their confidence and capability in respectfully embedding First Nations perspectives across all areas of the program. Through this, we strive to create a culturally safe, inclusive, and responsive environment that supports all children, families, and community members.
