WelloKids is committed to the ongoing learning about and inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures and contemporary experiences. Our vision is that our commitment to reconciliation can facilitate change in the next generation. Developing awareness of, knowledge about and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures and contributions will reap benefits for children from an early age. Exploring issues of fairness, justice, equality and equity, we are committed to developing a sense of social justice among those future generations, leading to a better, fairer society in which reconciliation will thrive. We will continue to work towards providing a high standard of culturally responsive education for all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, that will lay a foundation to future successes. Through relationship building, we will focus on First Nations peoples’ strengths and actively value First Nations families, cultures and languages. Through consultation, we will respectfully embed the cultural knowledge that First Nations children bring from their families and communities, offering educational opportunities that create a shared love of learning and maximise all children’s potential.
