Our vision for reconciliation is to nurture a community where children, families, and educators develop a deep respect for Country and for the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations Peoples. We recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey of learning, listening, and walking together with the First Peoples of Australia. We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for staff, children, families and the wider community to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
We participate in truth-telling and knowledge-sharing through genuine, respectful relationships with local Elders and First Nations community members. We are dedicated to advocating for equality, equity, and unity, ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are heard, respected, and acknowledged in our centre and wider community. Through our daily practices and interactions, we strive to respectfully embed these perspectives in authentic and sustainable ways, creating a culturally safe and inclusive space where all members of our Woodlands community feel a strong sense of belonging.
