VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation at Avenues Sunnybank Montessori Children's House is an environment where both children and staff recognise and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia.

It is about developing an ongoing understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories, and perspectives, fostering unity between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.

We will continue providing opportunities for educators to deepen their knowledge and integrating our learnings of the cultures, histories, and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples into our daily practices and educational projects. We enhance understanding and respect by participating in culturally relevant activities and learning about the true histories of Australia.

Additionally, it is crucial that we engage in continuous reflection, ensure that the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples guide our practices, as we commit to building a peaceful community where all cultures are respected.
