At Yeronga Child Development Centre our vision believes in acknowledging and teaching about the true history of Australia as we promote a sense of understanding, belonging and respect for Australia’s First Nations through a play-based and intentionality approach.
The service will recognise and respect the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People have made on the Lands of Yuggara and Turrabal. As a service we will strive to raise awareness about reconciliation, with the aim of encouraging the broader community to embrace reconciliation and work towards acknowledging and respecting Australia’s First Nations Peoples.
We will demonstrate this through: gaining a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and learning; respectfully reflecting the knowledge and including First Nation perspectives throughout the service, building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities to create a sense of belonging for our community.
