C&K Rosalie Community Kindergarten and Preschool's vision for reconciliation is for the Australian nation to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Land. We acknowledge the power of relationships in building shared understanding and mutual respect for each other's cultures, valuing diversity, and promoting a cohesive community with equal opportunities for participation.
We are committed to collaborating with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and building meaningful relationships. Through working together as a community, and including children from a young age, we can grow and learn together through consultation that deepens and strengthens this commitment and responsibility to reconciliation.
Together we can acknowledge the contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to contemporary society and celebrate stories of courage, innovation, and triumph.
Through our pedagogy and practice, we seek to have integrity in the inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural perspectives in a manner that shows respect and dignity for both cultures and peoples. As such, we strive to enact inclusive pedagogies which re-position and make visible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia.
As early childhood educators, we have a responsibility to empower future generations to be change agents and activists. What lies ahead is a journey of truth.
