Our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Narre Warren North is to deepen our understanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ customs, histories and cultures and to respectfully embed these into everyday practices.
We will do this by:
Embedding a sense of belonging, acceptance and inclusiveness of all peoples within our centre and community, particularly First Nations peoples.
Creating a culturally safe and inclusive learning environment.Embedding respectful equal and equitable opportunities for all peoples within our centre and community.
Building genuine, respectful relationships with all children, families and educators within our centre and community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and educators.
Being open to leaning about the difference between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customs, culture and histories in a meaningful and respectful manner.
Embracing local knowledge and perspectives and invite local Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and community members into our centre community to teach and share their knowledges and stories.
To care and connect with the country in which we live, learn, work and play.
To build and maintain meaningful relationships with local Boon Wurrung Peoples.
