VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Marysville and District Kindergarten, we are learning with and from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to build strong, respectful, and meaningful relationships within our local community and across Australia.  Our vision for reconciliation is woven into everything we do at Marysville Preschool.

We recognise our place on Taungurung Land, and through continuing to connect with Traditional Custodians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the local community to deepen opportunities to, learn language, about caring for Country, and diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their lands, cultures, spiritualities, and traditions. This commitment remains central to our purpose of supporting everyone across our learning community in strengthening understanding and commitment to reconciliation.

Marysville Preschool is dedicated to building and maintaining genuine partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. We do this through respect, being open to listening to and learning about diverse First Nations peoples and cultures, and providing an opportunity for sharing knowledge about reconciliation with staff, children, families and the wider community. Together, we continue working toward reconciliation and a shared future as one community.

We continue to create and maintain a culturally responsive and inclusive environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

We value diversity, seek to learn from others, and aim to listen to and learn from the individual aspirations and voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our community.  Marysville Preschool stands for equity and equality between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community.

We value the unique perspectives and place of the Traditional Custodians of the Land and extend our respect to all First Nations peoples. We are committed to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, histories, and heritages into our everyday practices.
