VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Mildura Early Learning Centre, we are committed to continuing our reconciliation journey by deepening our understanding and respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives throughout all aspects of our service. We recognise reconciliation as an ongoing responsibility and value the importance of building genuine, respectful and inclusive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. Our vision for reconciliation is to strengthen our connections with the local Latji Latji, Kureinji and Barkindji peoples, learning alongside First Nations communities and acknowledging the rich cultural knowledge, histories and connection to Country that guide our practices and learning environment. We are committed to embedding First Nations perspectives within our daily routines, curriculum and pedagogical practices to create a culturally safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every child, family and educator feels a sense of belonging and respect. We support educators to continually build their cultural knowledge and confidence in embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in meaningful and authentic ways throughout the learning environment. Our Reconciliation Action Plan reflects our commitment to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities to strengthen relationships, demonstrate respect and create opportunities for shared learning and connection. Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, Mildura Early Learning Centre will continue to promote reconciliation within our centre, support children to grow as respectful and inclusive citizens, and foster meaningful partnerships with the wider community.
