This vision is important in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities. We will strive to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander s Cultures are acknowledged and honoured within the service, and the children and educators develop an understanding of the Traditional Owners and their connection to and custodianship of the Lands in which we develop and grow.

At Buckle My Shoe Early Learning and Care, we recognise as educators we can share, empower and explore the cultural histories of  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples  with the children, families, and staff. We commit to creating strong relationships, through respectful collaborations and connection to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our community.

We are committed to creating a welcoming and safe environment at Buckle My Shoe, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples feel a sense of belonging and recognition. We support the implementation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander truths, voices and stories to be heard within our service - in our mission to guide practice and embed cultural awareness.
