At Lara Lake Community Preschool, we endeavour to compassionately share Australia’s true histories and discuss these openly with the children in our care, with a particular focus on the histories, experiences and perspectives of the Wadawururrung people who are the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Land where our Preschool sits.
We continue to work in respectful and collaborative relationships with children, families, local communities and Aboriginal Elders as we educate and develop a sense of belonging for all. We celebrate and respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives, experiences and cultures through learning experiences.
We actively connect with and care for the Land and all the living things we share it with. We partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to learn and teach about respect and care for the Lands, animals, trees and people for generations to come.
Our vision for reconciliation is a nation where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians unite as one. We recognise that Early Childhood Education is a pathway to a socially just. equal and equitable Australia.
