Our reconciliation journey continues to be focused on learning about the historical injustices faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including trauma from the Stolen Generations, Land dispossession, and the suppression of culture and language. As part of this learning, we will also ensure there are opportunities for everyone across our community of practice to develop knowledge of the ongoing strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, despite the impacts of colonisation. We remain committed to learning from this history for a better future.
We will continue to embed and strengthen how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives into our curriculum by ensuring all children, families, educators and the wider community engage in learning focused on Bunurong culture and histories. We will ensure this is done through building and maintaining meaningful and respectful relationships with the Traditional Custodians of this place, the Bunurong people.
Reconciliation is a journey that involves working together, side by side, with respect and understanding of our shared history. At Gordon St Pre-School, we are committed to this journey, undertaken in partnership with the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, believing that through education and collaboration, we can contribute to a more just, equal, and equitable future for all.
We warmly welcome all families, staff, and visitors to our Pre-School, and we recognise the importance of walking together, in the spirit of reconciliation, with respect, connection, and care for Country.
