Our vision at Goodstart Rowville - Murrindal Drive is to promote the rich cultures and histories of First Peoples and acknowledge that they hold the longest living cultures in the world. It is our role to listen, learn and adapt our way of thinking and respect the perspectives and traditions of the Wurundjeri and Bunwurrong Peoples. We want to provide authentic opportunities for our young learners to understand First Nations perspectives and traditions, and incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pedagogy to promote diversity and inclusiveness. We aspire to respectfully engage with the local Aboriginal community and Elders of the Wurundjeri and Bunwurrong Peoples, to develop and build relationships and to understand how to care and respect the Land on which our centre resides. As our centre actively works towards reconciliation, we embrace unity between First Nations peoples and other Australians by promoting equality and equity, historical acceptance of our own shared history and removal of discrimination and negative race relations. As a centre we also believe that reconciliation is about relationships, respect and trust. Through reconciliation we aim to strengthen the relationships between the wider Australian community and First Nations peoples for the benefit of all Australians. Our Reconciliation Action Plan is a formal statement of our commitment to reconciliation and forging long term sustainable, respectful and meaningful relationships with the Wurundjeri and Bunwurrong Peoples. Goodstart Early Learning Rowville - Murrindal Drive is a wholly inclusive centre that appreciates and respects all cultures and incorporates learning and activities for children to grow in their knowledge of diversity and inclusivity.
