Our vision for reconciliation is a community where all children, families, educators and visitors develop deep knowledge, understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. We are committed to deepening our understanding of the the true histories and diverse, cultures, perspectives and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through deepening our knowledge, we will continue to ensure diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are meaningfully embedded in our everyday practice, learning environments and relationships. At Goodstart Early Learning Rowville Stud Road, we strive to build and sustain genuine, respectful and reciprocal relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey that requires active listening, cultural humility and a commitment to continuous learning. We acknowledge that all educators, children and families and the community play an important role in strengthening these relationships and deepening our collective understanding of the worlds oldest living cultures. As an education community, we commit to walking this journey of reconciliation together alongside children, families, educators and the wider community guided by our Reconciliation Action Plan. We will continue to create a culturally responsive and inclusive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, educators and community members feel a strong sense of belonging, identity and connection. We will cotinine to be a service where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural identities are respected, celebrated and embedded in meaningful ways, and where every child is supported, nurtured and empowered to grow with knowledge, pride and respect.
