Our vision for reconciliation is to actively acknowledge and respect the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation within our community, alongside First Nations people and communities throughout Australia. Only About Children, Woori Yallock acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, both past and present, and recognises First Peoples’ strong and ongoing connections to the Land. We will ensure that the cultural diversity of our community continues to be valued, with our vision for reconciliation being to create an early learning service culture that is committed to building meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our community and deepening our mutual respect and understanding. It is our belief that, in order to achieve genuine reconciliation, it is crucial to acknowledge the past hurts and colonial injustices inflicted upon the First Nations peoples of Australia and the continued impact of these injustices today. We also acknowledge the continued strength and resilience of First Nations peoples and cultures. The reconciliation journey that Only About Children, Woori Yallock is committed to is based on ensuring that, even as a small community, we celebrate the great richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and contributions. As a service we will continue to foster a welcoming, safe environment, one that is supportive, inclusive and celebrates the cultures and diversity of our community, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Together with our children and families, we willwork and walk towards a positive and shared future of reconciliation, built on strong relationships and where the rights, interests and well-being of First Nations peoples are championed and valued .
