Pinemont Preschool respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri people, the Traditional Custodians of this Land and recognises their rich cultural heritage and spiritual connection to Country.
We seek to learn and where appropriate, share the stories that shape our Country, so that the wrongs experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples since colonisation are heard and understood. We resolve to learn from the past as a way of reshaping the present and we recognise and acknowledge the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. We are committed to gaining a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples' cultures, histories, and perspectives. We support Voice, Treaty, Truth.
We continue to form genuine, meaningful, and ongoing partnerships based on mutual trust and respect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and we see reconciliation as a whole community responsibility.
We recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing long term multidimensional process, and we strive to build positive, two-way relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community. We aspire to work towards a reconciled future where everyone is acknowledged, respected, and included. When respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being, Country, throughout our curriculum, we hope to promote an increasing understanding of the diversity and inclusiveness of Australia's First People and hope that this will have a profoundly positive and empowering impact on our children and our learning community.
