Goodstart Early Learning Reservoir recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and as the Traditional Custodians of the Lands, Waterways and Sky on which our early childhood services are offered. We acknowledge the link we have with the ancient histories of Australia through the Land from which our early learning environment has been created. Goodstart Reservoir is committed to continuing our current practices and journey towards building trusting relationships between our early learning community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We respectfully educate and learn together with, our children and families about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ enduring and living cultures and our learning opportunities will support children to contribute to equality and equity and establish strong relational links towards reconciliation. This is done through understanding that reconciliation is for communities to come together and value each other. Goodstart Reservoir commits to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians and supports equal and equitable opportunities and outcomes in education and employment.
We are committed to strengthening meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through our teachings and collaborations with children and families. We will continue to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are respectfully embedded in our program and practices through community links.
We are committed to providing opportunities for children and their families to welcome new families into our circle and teach them that difference and diversity represents a positive opportunity to learn and celebrate.
