VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to continue acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and we acknowledge that St Aidans Preschool is situated on Wurundjeri Land. We are committed and will continue to commit and reflect on how to strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the local  community, supported by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

We continue to commit to improving our knowledge and understanding of First Nations peoples and cultures. This will, as a result, enable us to use this understanding to  build our confidence in cultivating a service that ensures principles of equality and equity are seen and felt throughout our relationships and learning environments.

We will continue to come together to develop a sense of unity, to strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community. We will continue to actively maintain   culturally safe and responsive learning environments for the children, educators, families and community.

We will continue to ensure there are opportunities for all families, children and staff to develop connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and our learning community. We believe this will support our understanding of how to respectfully embed First Nations peoples' perspectives into our everyday practice.

We will continue to improve a range of learning experiences and teachings through play to enhance childrens knowledge, understanding, connection and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' heritages and perspectives.
