VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We are committed to continuing to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, perspectives, and cultures into our programs, and to actively acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander achievements and continuing contributions.

Respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures will be woven through the fabric of our pedagogy, practice and our community of teachers, learners and parents and families.

We promise to foster opportunities to engage in on-Country learning to support connections to the Country/place on which we work and learn, and to promote the importance of caring for the landscapes, wildlife and people of this place. We promise to provide physical and emotional environments that recognise and respect the place and significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions. We acknowledge the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the face of colonial injustices. We promise to celebrate the fantastic achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait people from long ago, today, and tomorrow. We promise to centre the self-determination of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. We understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities are the first teachers of cultural knowledge, and we will be guided by this knowledge and cultural practices.

Finally, we promise to see, hear and actively listen to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' voices and perspectives, and to make a difference towards reconciliation in any way we can.
