At Goodstart Derrimut we are committed to building knowledge of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories within our children, families and fellow educators.   

We believe that knowledge and understanding are key to building respect. Hence, we commit to authentically embedding opportunities and practices for our students to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories and contributions.  

We will build respectful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.    

We will encourage children, families and educators to learn about the importance of caring for Country and respecting the Land we live, learn and play on.
