Altona North One Tree Community Services and Kindergarten's visions is to promote an educational culture that recognises and celebrates the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, respectfully embedding their practices, cultures and knowledge into our environments.
We recognise that children’s connection to their community is essential to their sense of belonging, and that we play a key role in cultivating relationships within the community.. We wish to develop a strong foundation of learning for the children and staff by consulting with, working alongside and listening to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and through developing an ongoing respectful relationships with local Elders and families connected to our service. We will collectively build our understanding for a better future based on stronger relationships, high quality Early Childhood education and equal opportunity for all Australians.
