Altona Gate One Tree Community Services and Kindergarten's vision for reconciliation is to promote an educational culture that acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures We will respectfully embed Australia's First Peoples’ perspectives throughout our programs and environment. We recognise that children's connection to their community is essential to their sense of belonging, and that we play a key role in cultivating relationships within the community. We wish to develop a strong foundation of learning for the children, families and staff by consulting with, working alongside and listening to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This will be achieved through developing ongoing respectful relationship built on mutual trust and respect with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, families and communities. We will provide opportunities to collectively build our understanding for a reconciled future based on strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, high quality Early Childhood education and equal opportunity for all Australians.
