At Goodstart Cowra, our vision for reconciliation is to continue learning together as a community of educators, children and families to build understanding, respect and genuine connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We want reconciliation to be part of our everyday practice, not just something we talk about. This means creating real opportunities for children to learn about culture through play, conversation and shared experiences, and for educators to reflect on their thinking, challenge bias, and grow their confidence in embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
We are committed to creating a space where everyone feels safe, respected and has a true sense of belonging. We celebrate and respect the knowledge, cultures and voices of First Nations peoples, and recognise the importance of listening to and learning from community. We aim to reflect this in our environment, our curriculum and the way we work together as a community.
As we continue our journey, we will strengthen our connections with the local Aboriginal community members and ensure that our approach to reconciliation is meaningful, ongoing and visible in the way we learn, teach and care every day.
