VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We acknowledge the Darug people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land. We recognise the unique cultural rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We have an active Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), and we continue to ensure children and families explore these rights and values within our environments through teaching and learning experiences.  Educators at Goodstart Oakhurst are committed to building reconciliation by engaging in processes of learning and unlearning the truths of our nations history and by actively understanding that, through historical acceptance, truth, justice and healing we can make a difference. We foster childrens individuality, culture, strengths, needs, interests, and social development through embedded evidence informed practices and are advocates for childrens rights, equality, equity, and social justice as part of our reconciliation journey.  We promote anti-bias and cultural awareness to enhance childrens understanding of cultural and individual diversity and to encourage self-esteem and shared pride.
